Mega Mario is a Super Mario Bros. 1 clone.
It features everything the original features - with better graphics, higher resolution,
smoother movement and new levels.
The story of mario and Luigi continues  in old-school style.

Mega Mario is written in C++ using SDL.

In the game you play Mario and your task is to free his brother Luigi, who was captured by the evil Bowser. Mario is controlled by Keyboard or Gamepad using the Arrowkeys to walk, Space / A to jump and CTRL / B to run/fire. After reaching a castle the game is saved and can be continued at any time by clicking on "Load Game".
Mega Mario also features a blood-mode, which makes killed enemies spread their blood all over the level!

And if you have fun to create your own levels after completing the game, you can use the Level-Editor (read "Editor.txt").
For example you can send me your best levels and perhaps I'll build them into the game!

Super Mario, (auch nur Mario; j), ist der Name einer populären Videospiel-Figur der Firma Nintendo, die titelgebender Held zahlreicher, zum Teil höchst erfolgreicher Videospiele ist. Super Mario ist Nintendos Maskottchen und Protagonist der erfolgreichsten Videospielreihe des Unternehmens. Die Spielfigur taucht daher von wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen nur in Spielen für Nintendo-Spielkonsolen auf. Mit über 174 Millionen verkauften Spielen ist Mario nicht nur die erfolgreichste Nintendo-Reihe, sondern die bisher erfolgreichste Videospielreihe überhaupt. Ferner gilt Mario als bekannteste Videospielfigur der Welt. 2005 wurde er mit einem Stern auf dem Walk of Game geehrt. Bei Mario handelt es sich um einen schnauzbärtigen, etwas klein gewachsenen und dicklichen italienischen Klempner mit blauer Latzhose, rotem Hemd und roter Schirmmütze mit einem "M"-Emblem, dessen typische Aussprüche "Mamma mia" und "It's-a-me, Mario" sind.
